Get Inspired With Acting Performances to Admire
Hey Guys, this is Sarah from Teen Actor’s Lab and I have an “art” post for you.
Get Inspired With Acting Performances to Admire!
You can’t normally tell from these videos, but I am actually pregnant and due to give birth to my first child next month! So exciting! But because of a recent hiccup when the baby tried to come a little too early, I got some doctor’s orders to take it easy. This resulted in some more movie time with my husband which has meant more time to think about some often lesser appreciated performances I love to watch.
I’d like to give you an assignment and I hope you’ll take me up on it.
Watch these actors in the following films and then answer some questions. Do for all of them or for just one. It should be fun!
Robert Duvall or Tommy Lee Jones in Lonesome Dove
Meryl Streep in The Bridges of Madison County
Ryan Gosling in Lars and the Real Girl
Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep or Nicole Kidman in The Hours
John Leguizamo in Romeo and Juliet or Moulin Rouge
(these two are rated R so get permission from your parents first!)
Jeffrey Wright in Basquiat
Hillary Swank in Boys Don’t Cry
Questions to ask–
Did I like this performance? Why or why not?
What specific physical behavior choices did this actor make?
What vocal choices did they make?
What was your favorite moment of their performance in the film?
What did the actor do that contributed to the storytelling of this particular film?
When you answered any of these questions for any or all of the performances, be sure to post below or on the Facebook page! Who inspires you the most?
